Seeking "can't miss" Brunch Spots (West LA, SouthBay, Hollywood, etc).

After only a short 1/5 years in the LA area, I am moving away and want to hit the best brunch spot(s) before I go. I'm looking for reasonably priced brunch restaurants in any of the following areas (or immediate surrounding areas): Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Westwood, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Downtown.
No hotel brunches please. Looking for the more leisured, casual brunch atmosphere found at restaurants. Thanks for your suggestions!

  1. Santa Monica brunch at Zengo sounds pretty damn inviting: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/779404

    1. Very casual in the South Bay and you can't beat The Original Pancake House on PCH in Redondo Beach. Great pancakes, waffles and Dutch Babies . I love their 49'er flapjacks, thin and chewy. Always a wait on weekend but worth it.

I also love Uncle Bill's Pancakes in Manhattan Beach for their bacon cheddar waffles.

Brunch at Tavern is always great. The brunch menu is only available on Sat and Sun.

gotta put a good word in for the bacon and cheddar french toast at Uncle Bill's.

We were at The Original Pancake House this AM. Strawberries are now in season (but not at their best yet) and The Original Pancake House is offering strawbs as a seasonal offering on some of their pancake and waffle dishes. Had the gynormous apple pancake and the 49ers with a side of bacon which we really enjoyed. That was a lot of food, and so lunch is looking optional at this point...

          2. Hello from a fellow blondie!

My family and I had a marvelous brunch at Luna Park. Excellent food and service...and kid-friendly (in a good way).

May your new home bring you much happiness!

              1. How about Square One? Also....the patio at Cliff's Edge is a pretty nice way to celebrate the city before your departure!

There have been good reports on The Mercantile in Hollywood for brunch on the board.
