Breakfast/Brunch, staying downtown
I am so excited to be in San Diego again, I lived there for a while but never seemed to eat in or around the Gaslamp district. So we are staying in this area and I'm wondering some good places for breakfast or brunch in this area...we don't want stuffy or $$$.

I would send you to Croce's Restaurant. My husband and I stumbled in there quite by accident a few years ago and had one of the best breakfasts we've ever had, a fabulous and hang-over remedying concoction of polenta, chorizo and eggs. If memory serves me right, they also had killer Bloody Marys. I think I need to get back to San Diego soon!
