  1. Personally, I think it will be good after the first few months...I cant stand the hype of places.

    1. Yeah, I'll give it a little time for the hype to die down - it's going to be a mob scene from the get-go. That said, Colicchio is a chef who really understands and appreciates good beer, and his restos have always had well-curated suds collections. So I think it'll be a solid summer destination. We'll see how long the waits are, though...

Agreed - I hate crowds... but maybe it will open up the Standard Biergarten a little, so that if it's too crowded, you have a plan b!

      2. I'm excited because of Calagione, not because of Colicchio.

[edit: Oops, I'm thinking of the other biergarden, never mind.]

For collichio, didn't he already attempt to do something biergarten style with Collichio & Sons tap room? That seemed overpriced and strange.

The "Tap Room" is just a more casual section of C&S - kind of like the "Tavern Room" at Gramercy Tavern. The prices are pretty reasonable, as far as the food goes - some found the main dining room a bit overpriced, though. Beers are at typical restaurant prices.
