Looking for beignets

Anybody know of a place in San Diego to get some good and simple beignets. bread and powdered sugar is all i want.

George's has very good beignets. Expensive at $16, but they are meant to be shared. Come with 3 delicious sauces.

Ha, I went George's today and we had the doughnuts. We had an amazing time. Last week we had an amazing time at Mille Fleurs. Prices are high, but you only live once ASAIK.

The Verpiand owned Luc's Bistro (Poway) offers the same "Cafe du Monde Beignets with Powdered Sugar" for $5 on their Sunday brunch menu.

based on all the reviews i've read, Cavaillon seems to be the CH favorite for beignets.

were they simple beignets? or did they have sides with it?

There's this place in Downtown Disney called Jazz Kitchen, they have wonderful beignets. Just doughy bread and powdered sugar. I'm looking for something like that here in SD.

Simple ones. Just beignets plus powdered sugar. I believe it comes with a side of jam.

They put a TON of powdered sugar on them and it also comes with a side of berry jam (I want to say it has been blackberry all the times I've been there)

did they change the jam from strawberry to blackberry? all the times we've been, it was homemade strawberry.

No they just brought out some jam. I may be misremembering the flavor, but pretty sure it was blackberry
