New luxury Asian cuisine restaurant in Madrid
I have a friend who has retired to Malaga and he literally craves Asian food. :-P Everytime he goes to Madrid, he has to eat Chinese (I learned a long time ago NOT to ask him for restaurant recommendations, lol! ) Recently, he was going on (and on) about the Peking Duck at Tse Yang. Me? I can have Peking Duck any day of the week. I prefer cochinillo asado, rabo de toro, chipirones a la plancha.... The grass is always greener on the other side....
My friend will like the Zen market.
The duck at El Pato Laqueado may satisfy your friend as well, Aleta...
In L.A., we have tons of great Chinese options. But in Madrid, I've given up trying to find a truly authentic Chinese restaurant... not that I'm looking for it that hard, since I eat Spanish food when in Spain. It's just that I have Spanish friends & family who are always asking me for recs.

Regarding Chinese food... there's a good cantonese style restaurant near the Puerta del Ángel:
Paseo de Extremadura, 30
And a more down and dirty northern Chinese place in Plaza de la Luna that does hot pots, homemade dumplings, soups, etc. (order from the Chinese-oriented front of the menu--avoid the weird generic pan-Asian stuff in the back)
Calle de Silva, 25
It's a lot better than the soup place under the Plaza de España that folks seem to think is good (it's okay, but there are a lot of soup places like it now, sprinkled around Madrid).
Am still trying to disgest "Zen" AND "market"...
Btw, the Other Team - the winner, heehee, - is famous for its team within the team, the "team sushi" (am not making this up), set up by Carles Puyol, including Xavi, Cesc, Iniesta. That's 4 out of Pep's Magnificent Seven.
