Chi Town Hound look for good Asian/Japanese/Korean...

  • 6

I am in town for one night and am looking to find a unique Asian inspired restaurant. I dont care what type of food but something that is unique.

Does Monsoon fit the bill?

Revel?

Sushi? Chicago has sushi but not the kind of Japanese cuisine you have here in Seatown...

Thanks.

  1. I would first go for something you would be hard to find in Chicago.

I havent been to Monsoon yet, but they are a high end Vietnamese inspired restaurant where they are one of the few restaurants serving Wooly Pig pork meat.

You can try Malaysian at Malay Satay Hut. Reviews tend to be mixed on CH, but if you've never had Malaysian it would definitely be unique.

    1. Joule may fit your needs. It's Korean-French and very well regarded.

3rd Joule. Same chef-owners as Revel. Joule was their first restaurant; Revel is more Korean-influenced "street food." I like both but would choose Joule if I had only one night.

      1. What kind of Japanese cuisine does Chicago have that is different than what we have here?

        1. -For vietnamese, I would go to Green Leaf or Tamarind Tree in the Int'l District.
-Revel is pretty casual Korean/fusion mix--probably Joule (by same owner) is a better bet--LA has much better Korean than Seattle
-Japanese is great here--I would go to Nishino or Shiro's
