Any good chow in Bethlehem, PA
- mjg0725 May 24, 2011 05:53 PM
In town for a busy weekend with a wedding. Would love to have a Philly Cheese Steak or a Roast Pork sandwich without traveling too far, is this a possibility? Googling only brought up Carls Corner...
If not, are there any other local favorite chow spots to hit? Bakeries, Coffee/Cafes?
TIA for any guidance!

Not too common to find good Roast Pork Sandwiches in the Lehigh Valley. Also, be aware that in the Lehigh Valley , the default cheesesteak comes with sauce. In Philly you only get sauce if you order a "pizza steak". Therefore, if you want no sauce be sure to say "hold the sauce". Carl's is good as is Joes, on 191 just north of Nazareth I am sure others will suggest more options.
In Bethlehem you can get a decent cheesesteak on an Amoroso roll at the Brew Works. For non pub food Apollo Grill is one of my favorites. For casual there is also Emeril's Burgers and More place or Carnegie Deli at the Sands Casino. For dinner the options are even greater wit great restaurants in the historic district or the South Side. Go to Bolete for Sunday Brunch.
