Best Burger in Alameda or Nearby?

Some friends are doing a half marathon on Alameda June 5th (See Jane Run)
Their after run tradition is going for the good, greasy gusto of a burger. What's the best in the region?

Sorry to disappoint but Scolari's was underwhelming at best. It may be the best burger in Alameda but it is not special. Good burger, not any better in Alameda, but not Earth shattering.

Outstanding! May I recommend Scolari's?

FUNKY appearance, like most of East Bay and the neighborhood, but friendly with consistently great Chow - little seating...3 seat counter inside; few tables mostly outside.

Classic hole-in-the-wall....

Oh yeah, you want a Scolari's burger and I also love the Buffalo fries. Awesome!
BTW, the Stromboli is amazing if someone wants something besides a burger.

I think it's pretty unanimous. Scolari's has had a pimento cheese burger on the special menu the last couple times I've walked by and it's outstanding.

An alternative to Scolari's is Pearl's at the Towne Centre.

I have to say I was underwhelmed by the regular cheeseburger at Scolari's (and even more underwhelmed by eating it over at Lucky 13 -- might be fun late at night, but not in the daylight!). On the other hand, the last burger I had a Pearl's was everything a burger should be: juicy, meaty, etc.

Third. Just be aware that there's very little seating in the restaurant itself - but people seem to enjoy having their food brought over to the bar next door.
