Ethiopian near U St/ 9th (DC)

I'm taking a group for Ethiopian near U St/9th later in the week (for logistical reasons, I'm ruling out other Ethiopian places, hence NoVA Ethiopian, or Ethiopic are out, although many of them sound interesting). I'm in Baltimore now, and I haven't lived in DC for over three years, so my knowledge is a little rusty -- I used to frequent Queen Makeda, and I've been to Habesha Market, Etete and Dukem and several other places many times, but I'm not sure what the current best is, though I gather that QM is gone, while Etete and Dukem are still popular. Any other recs? Anyone been to Shashamene (mentioned by Tyler Cowen)? Other things I shouldn't miss?

In that area Etete remains my favorite.

Etete has the best menu (most interesting choices). Must reserve for the group. Adding the fish for $2 to the vegetarian platter is a steal.

I have not been yet..... but it sounds like a good candidate for a lunch.

From a bunch of good and great meals we had while in DC, Etete was right up there at the top.

Etete is my favorite. How big is your group?

I've never been to Shashamene (nor have I heard of it till now).

Group is only six, would that require a reservation?

Here is what I've read about Shashamene:

Etete can be very popular at dinner time. If you can reserve, you should do it.

I would make one just to be certain that you get a table.
