Looking for Santa Cruz affordable seafood for lunch.

i am looking for a casual seafood spot in Santa cruz. My group will be spending time on the boardwalk, and I was looking for a non-tourist trap place where the locals go to eat seafood. I do not mind going off of the boardwalk, and walking distance would be perfect.
Thanks chowhounders!

    1. Riva's on the wharf is where the locals go.

      1. The Crow's Nest on East Cliff Drive.

        1. I second Riva's. It's handy to the boardwalk and has very good seafood. It is very popular and often busy. Maybe you could get res for your group.
Also Aldo's deck is fun on a nice day. It's on the water, but you'd need transportation from the boardwalk.

Aldo's is not that far from the boardwalk....across the river on path on the railroad trestle, and then down Murray St. for about 4 longish blocks to the harbour, down the stairs and out toward the jetty....can't miss it. A nice walk on a nice day, and you go right past Betty's Burgers, and the Seabright Brewery which offer alternatives, or refreshment on the way back...

You may be right stan, but sometimes age kicks in as a walkable or not factor... Like the idea of a refreshment stop either going or coming though!
