Burnt Tortilla on Artesia?
Heard that the Burnt Tortilla on Artesia Blvd. in Gardena has been closed. Someone said that they closed due to higher rent costs? Any news on another reopening somewhere else? We like this one better than the other one on Redondo Beach Blvd.

Clinton, what do you like there? I just remember a pretty mediocre, unimaginative gringo combo plate menu.

Pretty much gringo food to be honest. We just go there because the parking is great and the prices are reasonable...until they raised it and eliminated the soup or salad with the combos. I usually get my old standby chile rellenos with beef enchiladas or a wet machaca burrito. Other than that, the chips and salsa is probably my overall favorite. Sad huh?

Yeah, the South Bay is kind of a Mexican food wasteland. However, a couple of bright spots come to mind that I hope you've tried:
- Licha's Don't see enough people in there, but they probably get a good rate on rent due to the wierd location and building size.
- Nuestra Senora Del Sabor A relatively new place where the menu has a wider range than most. Very nice owner. They close too early (7pm!), so be prepared.-----

The only other familiar Mexican places places in our area are La Villa on Crenshaw, La Capilla in old town Torrance, and Josie's on Crenshaw. Other than the Burnt Tortilla in
Gardena,, we're like you say a wasteland. I don't consider El Pollo Inka or El Rocoto's Mexican so I won't include them.-----
