condensation on inside of refrigerator

My refrigerator is sweating on the inside - on the ceiling - and dripping out the bottom of the door, The freezer is working ok and I've not had anything spoil in the frig. What could be causing this?

  1. have you put a thermometer inside your fridge? If so, what is the temperature in there?

    1. Have you cleaned the coils on the back of your fridge in a while?

      1. People at this site can help you very precisely. Report your model #--usually in the door or a wall inside--and they'll clear you up in no time:

        1. Air is getting into the refrigerator. Check the door seals. Maybe time to have them replaced.

If it's not new or newish I think this is probably the problem. If it's relatively new, some refrigerators have different settings for winter and summer, so depending on where you live, it could be time to change the setting. Ours has an energy saver feature that you can use in the winter when humidity is low, but need to switch over in the summer when the humidity is high to reduce sweating.
