almond bridgehampton: avoid at all costs, zero stars

Did not honor reservation made on open table ten days ago. Waited 45 minutes and left, went to town line bbq instead. No apology, no free drinks, nothing. Have had a weekend place here for years and will never go back. Will drive past in November when they are dying and laugh. Try this, when we left, they had the nerve to cancel our open table booking so we could not slam them there!
They have the cheesy zebra wallpaper from the old Gino's on lx and 61st. Nice touch, if you are over 70. Did not taste anything but looked mediocre.

    1. Almond is gone, Agave Mexican chain is taking over. You were probably their last customers.

          actually, this was at the new location in town, where One Ocean used to be. The Chowhound Team requested that I clarify my post, which I am doing here. Reservation was made on Monday May 16 on Open Table for Saturday evening reservation May 21st. We were clearly in the restaurant 's reservation book. I think waiting over 30 minutes past appointed reservation time is pretty bad, exacerbated by the failure of the hostess to apologize, give us any idea of when and if we might actually be seated, offer drinks. As the summer season begins, hopefully Almond will get their act together.

            Did their reservation confirmation email contain an instruction to confirm the day before or day of reservation as many of mine do? If so, did you confirm? I'm not suggesting you weren't treated badly, only wondering what might have been contributory despite your name in the book.

              No, it was the standard boilerplate one that says reservation confirmed and says if your plans change, let us know. I am pretty sure they called me on my cell a couple of days in advance to confirm (99% of my open table bookings do). I just think they overbooked and did not know how to handle it. And I use Open Table all over the country and have never had a problem with them.
