Delicious buffalo meat - you have to try this! [moved from Manhattan board]

A good friend of mine tried buffalo last week - bought it from a co called Wild Idea on their web site. She raved about it - and today I found it in Soho at Dean & Deluca!

I bought the NY strip - it was absolutely delicious. Not gamey, super juicy (and I think it's grass fed).

Go to Union Square Market on Saturdays and look for Ron who sells bison at the north side of the market. Less expensive than DD and all sorts of choices including burgers, stew, etc though the strip steak is probably the best.

I LOVE buffalo/bison--it's my red meat of choice. I'm in Indiana, not Manhattan, but I am fortunate enough to get locally sourced (and grassfed) bison. Stew meat, steaks, ground for burgers--love it all! In fact, I'm grilling bison-bacon burgers stuffed with blue cheese for Memorial Day!
