Rapture cocktail?

My friend and I are making a pre-Rapture dinner, and I want to make a cocktail for the occasion. Any suggestions? Since we're both probably damned to remain on earth, I think it would have to be appropriately apocalyptic. But then maybe we could have one hellbound Rapture cocktail and one heavenbound.

What do you think? Grenadine or Luxardo maraschino liqueur to represent the rain of blood?

      The problem, I think,is coming up with something you'd want to drink. My first thought was of something that would burn, such as Everclear. I supposed cognac would work. Maybe a variant on Cafe Diable?

      We used grenadine in an assasination anniversary cocktail some years ago.

        This would do nicely. I find it a touch sweet, so I add 1/4 oz lemon juice. You could float a teaspoon of Campari for drizzle of blood, if you wanted even more drama.

        2 oz Bourbon
        3/4 oz Orange liqueur, Grand Marnier
        1/2 oz Fernet Branca
        1/2 oz Maraschino Liqueur
        2 ds Orange bitters, Regans' orange bitters
        1 twst Orange peel (as garnish)

        Shake, strain, straight up, cocktail glass, garnish

          I'll be imbibing one (or three) of these while the end draws nigh:

          RED DEVIL

          mix over ice

          2 oz. of Irish whiskey
          1-1/2 oz. of clam juice
          1-1/2 oz. tomato juice
          a dash of Worcestershire
          1/4 oz. fresh lime juice
          and a pinch of pepper

          Shake and serve in a highball glass!
