Two things - wild salmon & squash/zucchini blossoms

Hello DFW hounds,

I am looking for wild salmon for less than 15$ a lb (a quick dropby at Central Market revealed prices as high as 30$ a lb!!). Sprouts does not stock the freshest/best looking fish. I havent been to Costco yet but I hear this is Copper River salmon time. I live in Lewisville but am willing to make the trek either south or east of here to get some good fish.

I had raised the squash/zucchini blossoms point on this board earlier as well and farmers markets/Central Market had been suggested. CM hasnt started stocking them yet...has anyone here seen these blossoms in farmers markets? I am thinking of going to the Coppell Farmers Market tomm..

Thanks,
Houndess

I bought some squash blossoms at spicer on Friday. They were delicious (I stuffed them with goat cheese, sauteed ramp - from spicer, and some jimmy's sausage).

I was looking for the 'like' button. Too much Favcebook I guess.

Jimmy's Food Store has blossoms. Spicer generally does as well. Pumpkin blossoms rock more than your average squash blossom.

Thanks DallasDude. I am actually looking for pumpkin blossoms, but it isnt season yet, is it? Squash blossoms might make an appropriate substitute in summer.

Right, they come late in the summer

It won't be immediate gratification for today, but you should grow 1 or 2 plants. They're probably the easiest veggie to grow - that I'm aware of - and they are profuse proliferators.
