Restaurants by AZ Science Center?

I'm not very familiar with the downtown Phoenix area, but am going to be there Saturday next week with my grandmother before we go to the Body Worlds exhibit. Yes, I thought it would be good to eat BEFORE viewing multiple carcasses posed in creative positions.

Anyway, my grandma is not an adventurous eater, to say the least, so anything Mexican and Asian or spicy is out. I personally love good eats, so I'm hoping there is someplace relatively non-threatening but also really yummy and lower or moderately priced? Am I asking too much? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The AZ Science Center is located within Heritage Square, which is home to three restaurants that I like:

Nobuo -- Japanese tavern food & Asian fusion from a Beard Award winner. Maybe not for your grandma, though.

Pizzeria Bianco -- Pizzeria from another Beard Award winner. Legendary both for the quality of the pies and the long waits, although the latter is more manageable due to new lunch hours. I've had several recent lunches at Bianco with no waiting at all.

The Rose & Crown -- British pub. Good fish & chips with chunky house-made tartar sauce. Other sandwiches and pub fare on the menu and, or course, lots of good beer on tap.

The Science Center also has its own on-site restaurant. When it was operated by Arcadia Farms, it was actually a worthwhile dining destination in its own right. Less so now that Aracadia Farms is gone.

Beyond Heritage Square, there are a few places within walking distance that might appeal to you and your grandmother:

Arrogant Butcher -- Sam Fox's first venture Downtown. Despite the name, not really a steakhouse. Favorites there include the turkey pastrami sandwich, the grilled taboulleh salad, and the daily specials like trout almondine.

Kincaid's -- Steak and seafood chain based in the Norhwest. Good lunch deals and happy hour pricing in the bar.

District -- All-American restaurant in the Downtown Sheraton. Good use of local ingredients to produce original takes on classics.
