FOldie 's first trip to Rome...a day by day account
landed this mprninG early and our driver found us after several mishaps. got to the apartment on Lungotevere Marzio, unpacked took a "shake it off "walk around the neighborhood.everything is closer, smaller than the map implies.
we walked right past L'0rso 80 and found it on the way home from Navarone. The house anti pasta with house red and sparkling water was great. Many sides were added plus fresh fruit dessert. Just wonderful!,, 25 EU each.
With all due respect, but this not being a private blog for your family but a forum where people come to get dining and related recommendations, it would be more reasonable and make more sense if you would tell us what you ate where and how it was. And i do not mean the pastry on the balcony, unless you tell us where you got it and how it tasted.
Here it is, Dar Filettaro a Santa Barbara ,between Campo de'Fiori and the river in a little square off of .Via Giubbonari
there is no substitute for a good paper map in a city like Rome.
Im personally glad you enjoyed Orso 80 - we had our first dinner in Rome there on our first visit many years ago - I just remember tonnarelli and a convivial atmosphere. Its had its detractors here over the years, but Id like to think it could revive - La Campana did.
Looking forward to hearing more of your adventures.
