La Catena in Ardsley: Any feedback yet?
I just saw a big ad for La Catena in Ardsley. I mistakenly thought it was a Mexican place, but it is in fact Italian. Have any Chowhounds been there yet? From the photos, it looks like they have a parsley-happy chef.

I agree with the name thing as it sounds like the Mexican that was on the parkway many years ago...it is in fact a very good Italian restaurant. The chef recently did a class for WCC continuing Ed in the restaurant and the food was terrific. He is doing another class in the fall. www.sunywcc.edu Taste of Westchester program.
They fun some great price specials also.›9 Replies-

He made clams casino, and a Portobello mushroom in a balsamic reduction, Vittela Alla Sorrentina-Veal Scallopine, Prosciutto, Eggplant, Mozzarella in a brown sauce; Red Snapper Livornese-a light marinara sauce with capers, anchovies, and green olives; and Chicken Paisano-simmered in vinegar peppers, served with crisp potatoes. Homemade La Catena cheesecake made with Gran Marnier. All were very good. Take the class in the Fall.

re: Shawn
It was wonderful from start to finish. We went with another couple and had drinks at the small bar area first. Young friendly female bartender who made a delicious La Catena martini. We had a 7pm ressie and stayed at the bar area until 7:30. We let them know when we wanted to sit.
We shared 4 apps (we were starving) buffalo mozzarella, fried calamari, clams casino and a special diced avacado & hearts of palm salad. The clams were the standout. All dishes were fresh and plentiful. We def ordered too many.
For dinner I had the pork chops with vinegar peppers with paper thin slices of roasted potato all in this heavenly sauce. 2 had a seafood dish with pasta and 1 had the seabass. The seabass dish was HUGE. Actually all the dinners were huge and I took half of my home as they gave 2 thick chops. My pork dish was the best pork I have ever had in a restaurant. They asked how I wanted the pork cooked and it was thick and juicy.
Dessert my husband and I shared the italian cheesecake.
4 apps
4 entrees
2 desserts
2 coffees
several cocktails each (cocktails were so reasonable)total was $360 for 4
We will go back for sure. Service was great and very very friendly. They also have a private party room which is great to know.

GLad it was as good as our class. The chef is very nice and the bartender of which you speak took our class even though she works there. She is super. He is doing another class in the Spring. www.sunywcc.edu come join in the fun!
