we are having an early dinner at Marea this saturday and would like to walk around the area and get dessert elsewhere (we moved out to long island and don't get to the city very often). would love some recommendations on where to go for some yummy desserts/gelato and coffee. Thanks so much!

  1. The desserts at Marea are wonderful, but if you want to go elsewhere, you can walk south to The Modern Bar Room, or perhaps Kyotofu for Japanese sweets.

Closer to Marea: the bars at Picholine, Per Se (jacket required), Nougatine, and Lincoln.

If you're headed towards the Upper West Side, Jacques Torres is open until 9 pm. For gelato, try Grom or Fish Tag (small but good selection from Il Laboratorio de Gelato). The bar at Telepan is another good option for composed desserts and coffee.

    1. I bet you can go to ROBERT. They have a gorgeous view of Col Circle. I bet if you call ahead you can get a table for dessert and coffee. Love it there. It's even got a musician playing a baby grand PIANO.
