May Hua supermarket site

I see there's some demolition/construction going on at the old May Hua site on Coit Rd. in Plano. Wondering if anyone knows what this will be. Another Asian supermarket or something else new and exciting?

  1. I am interested in knowing this as well. Last year before they shut down I asked them what was up and they said they were remodeling? Guess that wasn't quite the case. It would be nice to see another Asian market go in but with the one at Legacy and 99 ranch at 75 and springcreek I wonder if the competition didn't take them out.

Seemed like May Hua died because their produce quality went downhill then all their customers fled. Don't know what led to that decision/change but I visited regularly until then and they always had brisk business. Bad downward spiral. Super G Mart also cratered quickly .

So yesterday I went over to the construction area and spoke to some folks. Seems like the new store going in is ....*hold your nose*... Aldi. Can't say I'm too thrilled with that but it is what it is. Was hoping for another Asian/ethnic offering. Guess I will just have to drive over to the springcreek/legacy area for Asian shopping.
