Help with birthday dinner for me and Mr. diva, please! Summit area/Union County restaurants!

diva360 May 17, 2011 10:48 PM

There are three restaurants in the area that 'hounds seem to recommend that I have not tried and sound interesting for a great meal. Which one would you recommend and why? I want delectable food that it would be hard for a somewhat experienced home cook to make at home.

A Tout Heure

Are there others that we should consider? We would be willing to drive about half an hour (a Manhattan trip will happen later this month, so we are only looking for NJ recs). Thanks in advance!

I really like A Toute Heure. It's very cozy and nice for a special occasion. Also in Cranford is The Italian Pantry which is another favorite of ours. You can't go wrong with either spot, especially as they're both BYOB.

All three have highly talented chefs. Lorena's service is impeccable with a great atmosphere. A Toute Heure is one of our favorites, although much more casual than Lorena's. Both of them are BYOB.

I've been to A Tout Heure and Lorena's. Both great restaurants. A Tout Heure is more casual than Lorena's. Being that you seem to be going with a French theme, Resto in Madison is also very good. Resto & Lorena's, I think are your best choices.
