City Name Auto-editing Bug in Restaurants & Bars

In the last week I've added a number of new records for Kansas City, MO & KS. I've noticed that even though I type Kansas City into the city field, it shows as "KC" after I save it. Or from the pop-up to the editing page, the name will be automatically abbreviated.

Just now, I put in a new record for San Francisco and despite typing the full name into the pop-up, the editing page showed just "SF" in the city field. The implication of this is that pull-down menus for neighborhood were blank. I didn't know what the problem was until I noticed that the city field had been auto-edited. Once I typed in San Francisco, the neighborhood menu options reappeared.

Over the weekend I noticed that the new restaurant record that "Pane" created had SF in it. As she notes here, it failed to link to her post.

After I edited the city name, it worked fine.

Forgot to mention, but this should be fixed as of 6/29. Let me know if you see any other oddities with city names.

Now I'm noticing that after editing to use the full name of the city, the neighborhood menu is limited to just the first field (and it's outlined in red). The second and third field are still inoperable.

Is this latest development new (last 24 hours or so) or has it been around for a little while? If new, this is likely another side effect of the upgrade we made last night.

It's been more than 24-hours. Don't know when it started, just noticed it a few days ago. I did almost post this issue to the other thread but realized it's not as recent.

I'll file a bug with Engineering on this. Do you have any KC examples you could link so I can include them?

Here's one for KC that I did last night where I didn't change KC back to Kansas City.
