Chicken Cordon Bleu in Edmonton?

Hi guys, this is my first post because I thought it seemed like the appropriate place to ask for help.

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up in a month or so and I'd really love to take him out to dinner somewhere special in Edmonton. His absolute favorite meal is Chicken Cordon Bleu, but since I'm not usually one to dine out in expensive restaurants I need help finding a place that offers this dish, and hopefully prepares it well.

Does anyone know of a good restaurant, or really any restaurant at all, that would serve it?

  1. I haven't seen it on a restaurant menu for years, especially not expensive ones. Don't get me wrong, I love the dish myself and ofter make variations of it at home, or even buy the pre-made ones at Sunterra sometimes, but it is what many chefs would consider passe these days. Maybe one of the old traditional steak house kind of places like HY's might serve it.

I'd be concerned that you might get one of those horrid pre-formed frozen ones if you aren't careful about where you are eating.

    1. It's on Barb and Ernie's menu. No idea what it looks or tastes like.
