  1. I did notice that it is right next door to White Marlin. If this place is good there will be quite a little lineup there on Brighton Ave. (I'm forever amused that "West End" in LB is just about as far East as you can get anywhere in NJ. Of course I'm easily amused...)

    1. Mediterranean Grill? That just might win the "most generic & least descriptive restaurant name ever award.

p.s. Personal pet peeve: when people describe food as mediterranean.

Side note:....Funny thing I noticed all along Brighton Ave the cut all the nice trees down to nothing...why? ruins the whole atmosphere there....go figure?

I noticed the same thing. Here is a Google Street View of the same area with trees:

Exactly =Mark...That nice shade is a thing of the past now...theres gonna be alot of sunburned people & outdoor seating business could be effected in the hot summer also....what a shame..

      2. You guys need to hit up this place. The food is awesome, and you won't spend much. Definitely worth it. and it's BYOB. Ask for specials.

eeshuz...please tell us about your dinner experience there.

I sat outside. Got a gyro and a medi burger, which is made with a fried egg and manchego cheese, and I believe chipotle sauce. Both were ridiculously awesome. My friend got the lamb kabob. We got sides of baba ghanoush and yogurt sauce and for dessert we got baklava, which just melts in your mouth. All that and the bill came out to around $40, which is nothing compared to the generous portions that were provided. The service was top notch, and the place is very clean and you can sense that the staff has passion for what they do. So to summarize, I would say this place is awesome and I recommend everyone to go. Try something different for once, you won't regret it.

eeshuz thank you for the review.... when I'm in the LB area I usually go to Nikos Taverna for Greek...but this sounds interesting also I'll have to give it a try.

I just drove by this place yesterday and it looked interesting. Any updates on this place? (yes I realize this is an old thread but I'm bringing it back to life)

I hope it's a keeper and in no way shape or form related to the Mediterranean Grill in West Long Branch at the corner of Monmouth Rd and Cedar Ave.

Serious problems with seasoning and taste to all of their dishes - though the Ukranian girl at the counter was cute as hell. ;-)

the one in long branch is the one I am referring to. I realize its been open for a while but I don't get over on that side of town much so I was just wondering how they are doing and what people thought of the food.

...good to hear about the nice staff though LOL

We should start a new thread "best staff" in central nj ; )

                    1. re: corvette johnny

Best staff in Central NJ would have to be Ada's in Long Branch; comprised of... Ada!

If you're talking about the one in west end, I had a gyro there the other day. It's an amazing bargain for 4 bucks. They have some great deals like gyro/burger+fries+soda for 6 bucks also. I'll definitely be returning.

Did this place close? We were down at Monmouth U on Friday where the Misses had to get a Student ID and decided on Greek. I drove up and down that part of Brighton Ave twice and didn't see it. Around the Corner there was a banner for Mediterranean Food, so I figured they moved, but that place was closed also. With a "Coming Soon - Sushi" in the window. Instead of IGTM, We ended up going to Nikkos (They are open for lunch on Friday). It was an enjoyable lunch. However the gyro was on the dry side. We aren't too adventurous and don't really like seafood, so maybe we didn't get a good taste of what Nikko's has to offer.

We walked next door to the ice cream place but it was cash only (no ATM), and I only had a fiveski left, we shared a medium black rasberry with rainbow sprinkles and it was delicious.

Last time I walked by this place was closed.

I don't know if it's Pier Village but Brighton kinda seems to be dying..

I think there is a greek spot where the old quiznos used to be. is it Mediterranean Village?
