Oreo Cookie Crust Question
Hi,
I'm making some bar cookies with an Oreo cookie crust. My question is what is the best way to prepare the crust? I have seen some recipes that say to bake the crust for 8-10 minutes. I have also seen some that say to freeze the crust instead. And...there are others that don't do anything other than press it into the pan.
What are the pros / cons of each method? I don't need a super-crunchy crust. I think slightly "softer" will go better with the bars.
Thanks!

I have never done it any way other then pressing it into the pan. I think it depends on how thick your crust will be. But softer for bars, you probably just want to press it. Depending on the recipe if you have to bake the bars, then you may need the prebake to hold the crust better after cutting the bars.
