Merch Mart lunch meeting - delivery recs needed!
My client has requested that I order lunch into their office at the Merchandise Mart for a noon meeting this week. Being from out of town and without a car, I'm looking for some solid lunch delivery recommendations that my client will view as a treat. They have turned to me for suggestions, and I'd like to impression them a little bit! Any help is appreciated! There won't be a large group, so catering platters aren't really an option.

It may be too late to help the OP but I use CEO Deliveries for these sorts of meetings - when the wonderful Vongs Thai Kitchen was still around, we'd use CEOD to deliver rocket rolls and such. Now you can order from Madia and so many others, there's probably an option for any client who wants to be surprised.

Call up Philip Foss' MeatyBalls truck - great sandwiches, chips and even dessert, even if his humour runs a little sophmoric (I have no problem with that!). Depending on the order size, and I don't think it's a large minimum, he'll make a delivery to you (though he often parks near the Merchandise Mart a couple times/week).

You may want to look at www.grubhub.com You can put in your location (350 N. Wells) and you'll get a list of all the restaurants that would deliver to you. Just a quick glance through shows some interesting choices - you can chose by cuisine. This is also an way to get something out of a the normal lunch routine (Izaru delivers - I like them alot)

How about Xoco? They do not deliver, but they do take out and are close to the Mart. Perhaps an intern or someone could run and get the order?

Well, it's hard to have something your client will view as a treat; anything good that's close by, they probably go to all the time. Anyway...
I don't know if they deliver, but Steve's Deli is a terrific Jewish deli a block from the Merchandise Mart. You could pass the carry-out menu around, and everyone can order from it. They do a nice job with the usual sandwiches, and they also do excellent hot dishes like chicken pot pie, stuffed cabbage, etc. I don't know if they offer delivery, but if not, maybe there's someone you can send over there. www.stevesdeli.com
