Quick summary of Weekend eats
Pluses:
Cafe Mogador: Very good; highlights were falafel, hummus, Chilean Sea Bass Tangine, Short Ribs, and Grilled Chicken; reasonable prices, everything was good.
Aquagrill: were able to snag a table without a reservation on Saturday night with perhaps a 25 minute wait around 8 PM; Seared Scallops were very good but the risotto it was on was just ok; Miso marinated Chilean Sea Bass was delicious; awesome french fries, crisp and thin.
Minuses:
Pomme Frites on 2nd Avenue: very disappointing (Aquagrill's fries were far better); fries were not crisp enough, too much garlic mayo layered in and honestly, fries tasted like they were made from frozen not fresh cut fries;
Kittichai: very nice atmosphere but food just so-so; split several appetizers, small plates and sides, everything was fairly average, nothing outstanding; over-priced for the quality in my opinion.
