Best Birds Nest Soup in Hong Kong

I used to go to a place that specialized in delicacies including Birds Nest Soup in Hong Kong.

I THINK it was in Causeway Bay, but I could be wrong, was a kiddo and my memory of HK locations is very spotty at best.

Am going to be in HK in a couple weeks and am looking to take my boyfriend to have some and would like to know the best/really good place to go :)

  1. Why waste money on something that is tasteless and proven to be 'carcinogenic'??!!

Tsk tsk, Charles, be nice to coweepoh, we are after all, Chowhounds who love food ;-) I'm sure you can recommend some good places to her in HK. My personal favourite is Golden Island Bird's Nest Chiu Chau Restaurant at 2/F Star House, 3 Salisbury Rd, Tsimshatsui. Call 852-2736 6228 to book.

        Sorry!!!!!!!
In fact, most high end Cantonese Restaurants ranging fron Fu Sing, Lei Garden to Cuisine Cuisine, Sun Tung Lok, Fook Lam Moon and Yung Kee all has it in their menu. Personally, I love the double boiled bird's nest in whole papaya dessert of Fu Sing. However, since bird's nest is supposed to be great on complexion, hence favourite amongst ladies, I think input from 'female chowhounders' should be more relevant!

Ah, Charles, ever the gentleman :)

BTW, Abalone King Yeung Koon Yat (of Forum restaurant/ 富臨飯店 ) mentioned that he'd consume birds' nest steamed with sweetend coconut milk every morning. It was delicious.I've not been to Forum for more than a decade now. I wonder if that dessert dish is still on the menu.

I think the bird's nest in coconut milk 椰盅燉燕窩 is really good at Fook Lam Moon and one of my favorite bird's nest preparations.

By the way, I believe Golden Island Chiu Chow has gone out of business.
