Colorado Springs recommendations

I'm spending a week in Colorado Springs in July. Any recommendations about food? I'm kind of a snob, particularly about eating real food (grass feed beef, organic produce, etc.) and good coffee. I'm wondering if that's too much to ask for in this town.

I'm later spending a few extra days someplace else in Colorado -- I fly out of Denver on the 14th? Any recommendations -- food-based or otherwise? I have no limits on travel other than where my rental car and I might be able to drive.

Thank you in advance.

Wow, no replies in six months... that doesn't bode well for the food scene in the Springs. I'm wondering the same thing - my wife just got a free night at the Broadmoor and we're wondering what to do in the Springs (besides hiking). Chowhounders, are there really no good dining options at all? Doesn't have to be fancy, just really good.

I get to Col. Springs occasionally and have had excellent meals at the Penrose Room in the Broadmoor. Apaprt from that, I dunno.

I've only been once, but I liked The Curry Leaf. It's a hole in the wall, but I thought the food was pretty good there. And how often do you get a chance to try Sri Lankan food? http://www.curryleafrestaurant.com/

I enjoyed the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It's not huge, but the setting is nice.

Thank you, Chimayo Joe, for the Curry Leaf Cafe recommendation. We went there last week (they've just recently moved into a much larger location) and had a very enjoyable meal. We loved loved loved the beef curry and lentil curry, and my husband was a big fan of the deviled potatoes. Roti also was a hit. We will definitely be going back!

Try Pizzeria Rustica or Motif in Old Colorado City.
