Any recommendations for an authentic latin restaurant in Manhattan, that is NOT a tourist trap?

quite a range there. do you also include puerto rican and dominican, etc?

there is no shortage of such places in NYC

What thew was trying to convey is that your request is far too general. NY has a huge Latin community. What about Colombian, Ecuadorean, Mexican... Or do you want pan-latino? You need to provide more details in order to receive valuable help.

OK----would love Columbian, Peruvian, Argentine. Thanks.

    2. Must it be a sit-down? (Is ambience important?)

I like: El Rinconcito, La Isla, Caracas, Margon, Sophies, Casa Adela, and Westside Coffee Shop for my fix. I've heard great things about Taza de Oro too.
