This isn't ayce but I thought I'd throw it out there...Shanghai bun. It's not AYCE but there is no way anyone can eat more than 20 bucks worth of food there. And everything will be made fresh!

re: joonjoon
I was thinking the same thing joonjoon! Or at North of the Border.
But as for the best ayce, it is only brunch that's worth a darn. I eat at some of the places listed above too, but that's just because I live here. The food's not bad, but none of it is the buffet at the Bellagio. Brunch at At The Table and to a lesser degree, at Molly Pitcher Inn gets you the closest we can locally.

re: joonjoon
Foodwise, At The Table was better,. But a great southern brunch takes me back to LA in the late 80s, sitting next to Little Richard eating at a communal table at Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch.
The last time I went, about a year and a half ago, the overall brunch experience at Molly Pitcher was elegant and lovely. Unlike some of my friends, I always love the view of the river, no matter how many times I see it. I recall the food as being competant and forgetable, but I remember the day fondly.

re: seal
I was at Molly Pitcher recently. I too love the view of the river and never tire of the way the different seasons and outdoor activities serve as ongoing entertainment for the Patrons.
The quality/selection/display of food reminds me of an upscale catered event.
I always feel like a wedding crasher!.The physical setup/location of food stations could be better, esp around the omlette station but people seem to navigate pretty well. The only other thing I find annoying is the way they line everyone up prior to seating them. It reminds me of lining up schoolage children in the school cafeteria.

Tokyo sushi buffet in Freehold is a decent one if you link sushi.
If your friend want meat and don't mind traveling to Edison, Picnic Garden is a AYCE Korean BBQ joint that allow you to stuff yourself to death with grill meat.›6 Replies-

re: cantkick
For sushi buffets, there is also Makkoli in East Brunswick, and the upscale Ichi Umi at Menlo Park Mall. Of course, they have other foods besides sushi.
Freehold Grand Buffet is good for all you can eat Chinese. And, I see a decent amount of Asian clientele when I go there. There are also a number of dishes one does not usually see at the typical Chinese buffet.
I just came back from a cruise, where I pretty much stuffed my face all week. Surprisingly, I only gained 5 pounds. :)
Another favorite is Southern Smokehouse in Linden. It's tucked away in a shopping center, but they have southern foods, fried chicken, cooked to order steaks, and more (including an "Asian Bar").

There are plenty of AYCE Chinese buffets. I doubt any are outstanding, but some might be decent. There are two AYCE sushi places I can think of. I can elaborate if you want more info.
If there is still a Charlie Brown's in Monmouth County, their salad bar is usually excellent. I often went just for that.
Some BBQ places are AYCE. Look at the several recent threads.
Otherwise, I'm not aware of any place that does it on an every-day basis.

The one we used to go to in,( I think,) Tinton Falls, closed.. I believe the one in Lakewood is still operating. We now go to Ruby Tuesdays for their AYCE Salad Bar.
