The Next Food Network Star Begins on June 7
Personally, I cant wait. Over the course of 10 weeks (or so), contestants will be grilled mercilessly on having a "point of view", offering a "fresh take on old classics", and "letting their personality shine through".
After which, they will either get a sunday morning spot of the producers' choice or become a roving reporter on a tired concept show that highlights weird and wonderful food (re: United Tastes of America, Outrageous Foods, Kid in a Candy Store), forced to make OTT comments about that meal being "outrageous!" or "unbelievable!" without offering any culinary perspective.
What are you looking forward to on TNFNS?
I don't follow this series very closely, but this summer I just might.
Can any of you tell me who's come out of this series a success, aside from Guy Fieri? I remember the Hardy Boys had a show and got cancelled. I know Kelsey Nixon was a finalist and now has her own show on Cooking Channel (Kelsey's Essentials, which is great). Who else am I missing?
