Lunch in Lucca

My family (including two teenagers) will be in Lucca for a few hours in June. Is there a place somebody can recommend for lunch? Something casual, but it has to be delicious. We don't want a long drawn out affair either. Also, a gelato recommendation would be appreciated as well! Thanks!

I would check out Da Leo which was a pleasant experience when we was there. Come early so you get a table together with the locals and prepare some italian phrases.

Check out La Buca di San Antonio. I have not been there in some time, but the last time was a Sunday lunch and it was great.. Though it is always a good idea to reserve ahead, we arrived in Lucca that morning and stopped by the restaurant at around 11 and reserved for 1 pm with no problem.

our meals at La Buca was one of the most memorable we enjoyed in Tuscany, and we ended up going two times. our impression was, they've kept things very consistent through the centuries they've been there.

I should also mention that we will be in Lucca on a Sunday, I'm not sure if that makes any difference. Thanks again!
