Westchester County Farmers Markets - 2011
Hi CHers - does anyone know when the outdoor farmers market season starts this year? I am specifically interested in upper Westchester and White Plains. I have not been able to find out anything at all. Thanks!

White Plains opened last Wednesday. It's now located on the stretch of Court St between Macys' and Starbucks.

No, they just had a sign there saying that there was a new location! The market is now located on Court Street itself. I belive that it is only taking up the one block. However, a
nice addition to the market was a fish vendor-- I think he said he was out of the the Hamptons. I bought some excellent hake (for merluza en salsa verde). He had, among others, skate, monkfish, cod, a couple different types of sole, and scallops in the shells.

Why no Mt Kisco market this year?
Don't know why Nyack isn't on the list, but this Market already opened last Thursday. Wonderful vendors.

I heard that they're trying to move the Mt Kisco indoor market outdoors but I don't know if there's been a resolution yet.
As far as Nyack goes, it is run by Local Harvest, not Community Markets.

re: spa
It's not "run" by Local Harvest, this is an informational website. (And it has the wrong date for Nyack). Local Harvest site lists all the same markets in Westchester as on the Community Markets site. Someone ought to get CM to put Nyack on their site.

Pelham starts on the 28th, which will be a big improvement. The last couple of years it was on Sunday and hardly anyone was out and about downtown. I think we very nearly lost our Farmers Market. I know my favorite vendor closed up shop before the end of the season. I'm really looking forward to it, too!
