Dining on the Way to SFO from Sonoma County?

We need restaurant recommendations for dining on a Monday evening near our route from Sonoma County to San Bruno (US 101, US 1, 280 to 380). We are staying overnight in San Bruno before flying out on a Tuesday morning. The closer to San Bruno the better, but we would like to find a casual cafe or ?? (no Asian before flying please!) with decent parking nearby. We're thinking of Mescolanza on Clement, but worry about parking in the area. We'll probably have dinner about 6:30 or 7 pm. Any ideas?

The most direct route to San Bruno through SF is down Hwy 1 through the Richmond District and Sunset. Around 6 or 6:30, you might still hit some heavy rush-hour traffic south of SF, so it might make sense to have dinner in SF.

But non-Asian in the Sunset or Richmond with easy parking ... that is tough.

What's your price point? Tons of restaurants in SOMA (South of Market) in SF that have parking nearby (metered) or valet. Restaurant Lulu, Marlowe, Town Hall, Oola to name a few... and all of them a stone's throw to get you back on to 101S.

Meredith, we will be traveling 19th Ave to 280 so we're looking for a casual restaurant along these corridors.

Oops. Pasion (9th/Irving, Peruvian food) is an idea then!

"No Asian before flying" because of the salt intake per doctor's orders.

There is always Joe's of Westlake or Boulevard Cafe in Daly City. Both have large menus, easy access off of 280 (take the John Daly Blvd West exit) and their own parking lots.

I wouldn't worry that much about parking in the Outer Richmond, you should be able to find something within a block or two and there is even a paid lot nearby.

You might also be interested in stopping in Sausalito before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. There are quite a few good restaurants, such as Le Garage, Fish!, Poggio (all of which have been discussed here many times). Plus the views and waterside locations would be very nice in the evening if the weather is nice.

I'd worry a lot about parking at 24th and Clement. That's one of the most brutal neighborhoods in the city to find parking.
