I've been twice recently and if it stays as good as it's been the past month or so, it's going to become one of my favorites. The focaccia, the non-traditional carbonara, the short rib ravioli and the budino have been excellent. (It's gone through a ton of changes in the past year, but I think they've finally figured out what they should be doing.)

I went in April with my cousins for dinner. There's a new chef, whose name escapes me, but he's got a decent reputation. I did love their charcuterie appetizer. All charcuterie is made on the premises. The rest of their food was okay. Balsamic hanger steak was way too balsamic-y. The homemade lamb sausage was good, but the chickpeas served with it were a bit to al dente for me. Dessert was only so-so as I think my tiramisu is better. Service, however, was quite good.

re: foodiemahoodie
Sorry. This was a mistake. I got it confused with Osteria Mamma - who was the original chef at Osteria La Buca. I have not been to La Buca in well over a year. And they have a new chef so take this criticism above and apply it to Osteria Mamma. And with that, with Mamma, I'll go with the latter figure there - must be 100 places that serve better Italian food in L.A.
