Oyster Festival

Did anyone go last year? Is it worth checking out? Thinking of planning a trip that weekend, not specifically because of that, but it sounds like a fun way to while away an afternoon. Thank you!

I enjoyed it last year for what it's worth. Food was good and reasonably priced from what I remember. I'll probably hit it again this year.

How much longer will the oysters be good?

They still look good but the prime season is essentially over. Also, we have the fresh water coming down from The Great Flood and that's gonna kill zillions of them,

Yes, we were there last year....it was fun to check out...wouldn't make a trip just for that but since we were there anyway, it was a good way to spend some time. Lots of food.

In Amite? No it is not worth checking out. If there's another one somewhere else, maybe, but not Amite. We went. It sucked but the oysters were good. Not worth the drive.
