Anyone tried the Ocean Spray Carbonated Cran in a Can?

I saw this new iteration of their cranberry juice cocktail advertised yesterday, and wondered if anyone has tried it yet. Haven't seen it on the shelves yet here.

I am looking forward to trying it, as i love carbonation. ;-).

save some money, buy a soda stream (okay so you have to spend some first but it is so worth it), get some frozen concentrate 100% juice and make your own. So far I have made 50 liters with one $15 cartridge. You control the fizz, the sweet everything. Aluminum deposits are found in the brain cells of Alzheimer patients, I would never drink anything from aluminum cans.

the alzheimers - aluminum link is not shown to be causal.

i saw these in harris teeter today. they have three versions: cran, cran-pom and cran-blueberry. there were 4 small cans in the pack for $4.19. the label said 70% juice and 30% sparkling water.

i said to myself i can add sparkling water to my own dang cranberry juice for that price. it would be convenient, but i'm not packing a lunchbox or stocking a bar. even if i were stocking a bar, i don't think i'd buy these. they'll be on sale at some point, and i'll try them when they are buy one get one free.

It's cranberry juice and champagne--often served with brunch around the holidays in my area, but I like it year round :)

yes...if i were wealthy, i'd have several things...a daily back massage, a hairdresser to wash and blow dry my hair, a manicure and pedicure every week, and...champagne! <oh, did i mention the big pantry, big wok ring, outdoor kitchen and wood fired outdoor oven?>

Thank heavens- poinsettias are poisonous plants, being I think from the euphorbia family. Glad it's a nonrelated cocktail.

I looked for it yesterday at my grocery store, and I couldn't find it. I even asked at customer service, and they had no information about it. Must be coming soon, I guess.

I saw it at my local (Philly area) Giant on Saturday, but I didn't pick any up. I hadn't seen any ads for it, so it did make me stop and look (it was prominently displayed at the end of the aisle). If I want fizzy cranberry juice I'll have a poinsettia--in fact, thae Saturday sighting is probably what compelled me to make poinsettias for Sunday breakfast.

I make my own 'juice and tea' combo with half cranberry juice and half rooibos red bush tea. It's yummy.

                  red bush tea?
                  flavors?

speaking of making a blend of nice flavors. celestial seasonings red zinger would be really good with cran-pom.

I think the brand I occasionally buy is Polar - they have liter bottles of both diet and regular Cranberry Dry Ginger Ale. I like it a lot, but I rarely buy soda - trying to hold onto my teeth, and limit my grocery bill.

That sounds super, and I love Graham Greene in those commercials. And in general. Haven't seen it for sale here but I'll try it. Cranberry and seltzer was my salvation a few months back.

I'll stick with my regular - 3/4 seltzer with lime, 1/4 cranberry juice cocktail. I'm sure anything Ocean Spray bottles will be way too sweet for my taste straight out of the can.

i think it is cut with the seltzer water, bob -- and i'd like that fact. when i'm needing serious cran action for my kidneys, i drink a bunch straight up. for less pressing issues, i dilute the cran by at least half.

i've been considering one of those sodastream thingies, but i don't think that you can carbonate anything other than water -- and THEN flavor it.

I don't see why it wouldn't work on any non-viscous liquid. Might be a pain to clean, though, or get clogged up quickly.

Probably, but you don't want to invest too much in it until you find out. Go look for a seltzer bottle at someone else's yard sale!

alkapal, have a look at a Japanese (preferably, or other Asian) market when you get a chance. There are some very interesting carbonated bevies being sold...

We have a sodastream. Not really sure why you couldn't carbonate other things if you just cleaned off the nozzle...

                            Genius product.

now, sodastream is at BB&B, so no shipping of cartridges etc.

it warns you not to use it for anything other than water. Not sure why but at $100 I'm not risking messing up my machine. I just add the carbonated water to the concentrated juice in a separate container.

Oh sure you can- isn't that the thing with those high dollar soda machines? You could get a Soda King type thing, and shoot the seltzer into concentrated cranberry juice- concentrated to come up to standard dilution with the seltzer addition. I got my most recent one on Amazon.

ALKPAL, you are correct, but if you get some good glass bottles (I had a friend save Kombuca bottles for me) with an airtight seal it is very easy to make using the same concentrated fruit juice as the bottlers do. I made about 50 liters so far from one cartridge.
