You might consider Foreign & Domestic. Eclectic menu (if you like the pig) and interesting people. Sit at the Chef's counter if you can. http://fndaustin.com/new/

Sarah - It would be great if you'd let us know what kind of chow you like to eat as well as what price range you'd prefer. Also, it would be great to know what part of town you'll be staying in and whether or not you'll have a car.

What Helind said. One woman's "best eats" is another woman's Hell. Give us some guidance about what you are looking for so we can better help you!

I'm staying downtown and I have a car! I would love to try some new food carts, torchys is my favorite! I'm going down to Austin for vacation so price isnt an issue. Eclectic/New american... I'm not a picky eater. And I'll try anything once!
          THANKS YALL!

Go to Odd Duck on South Lamar, but go fairly early; they run out. Enjoy Gordoughs' right next door for dessert.

Uchiko for your most amazing meal (with equally jaw-dropping bill).

Parkside for Austin's best "New American".

              Good luck!
