I have a few hours in Portland next Friday and I'd like to find some pie. I've read good things about Random Order Coffeehouse and Bipartisan Cafe.

Any opinions and/or recommendations?

Thanks.

      Thanks Leonardo.

      I just found this thread...

...so it looks like I may have to hit both.

I second Random Order! I just had a slice of the Strawberry Rhubarb a couple of days ago, delicious! They also have a fun little cocktail menu to take the end off a Friday afternoon.

Since I have a brief pie window in the morning and one in the afternoon, it looks like I'll have to save Random Order for the late session.

I am always sad when someone asks about pie in PDX and only Random Order comes up as a response. There has to be(and there is) some other option than spending $40 on a pie. No matter how good RO is(and they are good....just not $5/slice good)

on that note, Pacific Pie Co. just opened up a spot on Hawthorne that is open 11-9 daily. they make both savory and sweet pies, in addition to pasties/sausage rolls, etc....pretty good stuff! and approaching reasonable at $20-25/pie. Just another option for ya....

Yikes! That makes three places I need to hit in about 2 hours. Looks/tastes like this is going to be a great trip.

Just wandered into downtown eatery called The Original because they had a tempting pie case in the window. I was pleasantly shocked by an amazing piece of apple pie. OMG! They had a blueberry one that looked amazing too, but I could not eat another bite.

The Original also has amazing chicken fried steak, which is made with flat iron steak instead of the usual bottom round, so it's more like eating a deep-fried ribeye than a deep-fried hockey puck.
