La Famiglia Baltimore near Johns Hopkins University
Hubby & I go there every few weeks- were there last friday for dinner and it was FABULOUS. Their 'happy hour' is quiet- not even sure if they have specials, but the service is friendly and they do have a 'lighter' menu for the bar area. We both give the place thumbs up. You can't go wrong at La Famiglia
I respectfully disagree. We ate there a few months ago and the food was undistinguished at best. I don't remember anything alarmingly bad, but I do remember deciding that we would never eat there again.
The one bright spot is the service, and there were a lot of folks there who were from the neighborhood. The owner knows how to cater to them, as he did at Boccaccio's -- but that doesn't make the food good.
If you were looking for Italian, Sotto Sopra or Cinghiale are head and shoulders above LF. If you were looking for good food nearby, Gertrude's or Petit Louis would fill the bill. If you were looking for a happy hour in that neighborhood, I'm afraid I can't help you there.
