If you want something fun and a bit different, I'd urge you to try the spanish restaurant Tio Pepes. While I know there is controversy on this board about it, I've always LOVED my meals there. It's a neat place, in the basement of a row house, and the menu is big and varied, so there would definitely be something for everyone. I especially love the garlic shrimp appetizer and all of the fish entrees, and my husband always raves about their veal and mushroom dish. The sangria is also delicious!

tio pepe is a baltimore icon. the food is good authentic spanish. often the 20 or so specials are excellent. I love the zarzuella de mariscos costa brava which is almost like a boulebaisse. Also the Dover Sole in champagne sauce is great. Big menu. good sangria
they are famous for the pine nut roll cake for desert . . very loud. another good option is Black Olive which is great for middle eastern/greek style especially fresh grilled fish (which you get to pick out) and seafood. Also 2nd Ms. Shirley's for breakfast

I love the Black Olive, but it's not walking distance from the Sheraton or the Arena. Nor is Tio Pepe.

Yes, but the OP asked for "within walking distance". Recommendations outside of that should at least point out the transportation issue.

Tios is definitely walkable. I just verified on Mapquest-- if they walk down Charles St., it's just .4 of a mile!

Walkable in Baltimore isn't always about distance. B&O is a better choice

Breakfast at Ms. Shirley's on Pratt Street (a 10 minute walk east on Pratt Street)

B&O American Brasserie is just a short walk away and has fantastic food.

Indeed. It's outstanding. Both food and cocktails are top notch.
