Friend arriving at GSP around 8PM Friday night.
Looking for moderate priced Dining that is open late around GSP or on the wayback to Asheville
Is downtown out of the way?

I have a few options for you, although I don't know the closing times, you'll have to call.

In Duncan, of exit #63:
Demetre's-Just off 85 on left. Decent Greek place with steaks, seafood, etc. Moderate. Open till 11.
Thai Cuisine-OK Thai, but closes at 9:30, turn right off 85
El Molgajete-Acceptable Americanized Mexican, on left off 85
House of Pizza-Not the best, but not the worst, on left off 85, closes at 11

Depending on when you finally get out of GSP, you might be pushing it with the following:

Landrum-Hare and the Hound, pub food, decent beer selection. off 26 on left in town

Tryon-Side Street Pizza, Trade Street, Great Pizza, closes at 10

Columbus-Larkin's, steaks, seafood, salads, on right in columbus just off 26, closes at 10
Giardini Trattoria- Great Italian place, have their own organic gardens. We have a place at Lake Lure, and come down here often. Worth the drive. Don't know when they close, they have a website.
Hope this is a start, and there are no T-Storms Friday to delay flights!
