Paru's Indian Vegetarian Restaurant

I'm going here tonight to celebrate my friend's b-day. Anyone been here and if so, what's good on the menu? thanks.

  1. Many people have been there; some still remember that they were (minor attempt at humor; they've been there 30+ years, and had a fairly...well... "hippie-ish" clientele for a long time...) (Boy, does THAT word look quaint in 2011!). It's local to me, and I've eaten there with the Woman In The Hat, and the Chow-Pup, since he WAS a Pup, probably once or twice a year for the last 21...

It's South Indian vegetarian, pretty tasty, and inexpensive, though somewhat carb-heavy; service, if laid-back, is always pleasant. It's much nicer inside than it looks from the outside, where it's kind of forbidding looking...

    Their menu is at http://www.parusrestaurant.com/

    1. We've always liked the combination plates. If you get the Indian Thali and the Queen Paru plates, you pretty much have most things on the menu. And they're good to share.

      1. I was introduced to Paru's over a decade ago by a late friend and eating there always conjures memories of her. I love the place: the food, the buzzer at the iron door and the fabulously nice people who run it.
