Do the sushi chefs at Kyubei Shinjuku branch speak English?

So, I had my hotel receptionist make a reservation for us for tonight May 11 at Kyubei, thinking I had them call the Ginza location, because I had read the chefs speak (some) English there. I just found out that I got confused about the 3 different Kyubeis and I actually have a reservation at the Shinjuku location instead.

I don't want to go if there's no chance of communicating with the chef.. does anyone know about this?

we went anyway, I was a bit nervous about it, but we had a fabulous dinner. Transcendental sushi and the chef was very friendly and helpful, and spoke enough English to make it a very pleasant experience. So happy we went! It was our anniversary dinner and I really can't think of a better way to celebrate this day than with exquisite sushi!

The Shinjuku Kyubei location is the only one I'd go out of my way to go to, so you did the right thing. And given that it is in a large foreign-tourist friendly hotel, I'd expect a little English, or at least familiarity with the ways of the white water buffalo.
