High end caterer on down east coast.

We're looking for a high end caterer for a party in Boothbay for 20. Something that would wow as much as Primo, be as consistent as Five Fifty-Five, as talked about as Fore Street. It would be a full setup/teardown but wouldn't require cooking equipment, working along side a event planner. Anybody willing to come to Boothbay would be fine, but I imagine it's probably Portland to Rockland.

Fore Street
288 Fore Street, Portland, ME 04101

Five Fifty-Five
555 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04101

  1. Two things:
    1. Boothbay isn't Downeast.
    2. Try Aurora Provisions in Portland. Don't know if quite reaches the echelons of Primo, but they're quite excellent.

I was also going to suggest Aurora...also, don't know if they go to Boothbay, but Swan's Way is terrific. I think they're based in Camden...they do a lot of the high end events in the midcoast.

    2. I've never had Primo/555 quality food from a caterer in Maine and would rate Aurora Provisions as the best we have in Maine in my experience, but if no one in the Midcoast area near Boothbay or in Southern Maine near Portland meets your standards you could see if Boston-area caterers are willing to travel. Season to Taste and East Meets West are good--

That said, Aurora can likely work with you to get you something that meets your standards--but they can be slow to respond (probably because they're in such high demand) so be prepared.

      1. I just happened to be surfing through the boards and saw your post and think I may be able to help. This is a link to a excellent local party rental company's 'Links' page. It has most of the best caterers in Maine on that list.

        Hope this helps!!!

        1. Hello: I was wondering which caterer you ended up using. I am planning a highend dinner party for 30 on an island off the coast of Boothbay next month and could really use a recommendation. Also, wondering what event planner you enlisted. Need to tent the porch of a private home. Thanks! (Also, willing to consider Boston caterers if needed.)

We used Kate at Beautiful Days Events for an event planner and the Squire Tarbox restaurant to do the on site cooking/catering. Would recommend both, they put on a great party.
