  1. Tony.. you didn't give any indication of what you were looking for, and this post may be too late, but the best restaurant in Bethlehem is Bolete.. a wonderful farm to table restaurant that has received rave reviews from almost everyone. They have both a tavern and a fine dining room so you can eat light or enjoy their full menu.

Bethlehem Brew Works is a fun brewpub in Bethlehem. I am sure others have some great recommendations too.

Also a late +1 on the Bolete suggestion by CW. It is a feel good place, with in a rustic old road house with a nicely done combination of rustic and fresh modern design on the interior. The owners, host and head chef, are a lovely and fully involved couple. As noted the food is usually
very good. I am impressed with the range offered as one can select a great burger or have one of their excellent entrees. The bar is in an attractive room and the tenders can mix an excellent and inventive, if you desire, cocktail. For us it is worthy of a bit of a drive to this rural side of Bethlehem. As noted above the "professional" reviews have been excellent!

I second Bethlehem Brew Works. We had the "pork and kraut, " "pulled pork" and the "perogie casserole." The perogie casserole may have been a bit of a miss but I did not try it. It was more like a giant perogie/shepherds pie with cheese on top. However, I throroughly enjoyed the pork and kraut which was chunks of fresh roast pork, a not-too-vinegary sour kraut and garlic mashed potatos with four onion rings. Really good. My husband also liked his pulled pork sandwich. My guess is that german is the way to go at this restaurant although they have other things on the menu (burgers, club sandwiches etc.) There is also a cheap parking lot behind the restaurant. But our hotel was on the other side of the river and we had no problem walking from there and were able to take in a large part of the historic district and cemetery (which is a must if you do not live there)

This is the thread I was referring to.

I agree Bolete is an excellent place...we go there often...in fact goine there for Sunday brunch now.

The other place we like a lot is Sette Luna in Easton..

Any other suggestions in the Lehigh Valley?

          thanks in advance,

          Steve
