hi, we have a four day trip to Madrid. booked into Botin but any other suggestions for tapas bars or interesting dining

There are tons of good tips on this thread that I started before a visit last January. (Ignore the title about the asadores; I never did eat in one in Madrid,not wanting to sully my memories of lechazo in the Sepulveda region)

If you can be more specific as Madrid's dining scene is interesting and very diverse. Madrid has restaurants that serve food from just about every area of Spain.. Budget, ambience, area, type of food, etc, would be helpful. As for tapas, there are great ones in just about every neighborhood.
