Had dinner here last night. Loved the chicken lver spread they have on the table. The popovers were OK but way too filling to waste space on.
Had the PH for 2, mushrooms and blue cheese tater tots
All were good but none blew me away. The tater tots were a little heavy on the blue cheese and I love blue cheese.
I went to Keens, Strip House and BLT Prime in the last 2 months. I thought the steaks and sides were much better at Strip House. Seafood tower at Keens was awesome.-----

re: princeofpork
agreed. I even thought the steak and sides were better at Strip House than Peter Luger. My second favorite steakhouse would have to go to Smith and Wollensky though I still haven't tried BLT Prime, I'm going next month though.

I love BLT Prime and anything you get will be wonderful But here are my favorites there:
Porterhouse for two, Blue cheese tater tots, potato skins, potato gratin, gnocchi, hen of the woods mushrooms, onion rings. Always have great special sides too.
Their desserts are also some of the best around. Do not miss whatever sundae they are featuring. Others I have enjoyed are the chocolate tart with pistachio ice cream, peanut butter chocolate mousse with banana ice cream. They also have something special every night.
Enjoy the popovers. The bestest!

Shame on your for not recommending the jalapeno mashed potatoes too. and i didn't love the gnocchi either. But you are right on point with the special sides, during the summer they usually have some sort of creamed corn pudding with pancetta and black truffles which is stellar.
I'm also a ribeye guy but always order it without the herb butter on top (literally a silver dollar size piece of unmelted pat of butter which detracts from the steak)

re: ESNY
The jalapeno mashed potatoes are a new addition since I last ate there. The corn pudding sounds terrific though. Wonder how it stacks up to the corn with pancetta at Strip House or the corn creme brulee at Quality Meats.
